Trench Season is Official on Michigan Ave

Enough with the heavy, dark and drab winter coats...trench season is here, literally a physical and mental relief!

On the Ave (or downtown) khaki, and variations of it, is in.  Especially when paired with navy or grey for men and a pop of a bright color for woman.

I once heard it told that people are influenced by their surroundings and as Chicago is full of steely grey skyscrapers, it's people tend to dress in more of the neutral colors.  I would argue further that people in Chicago can be differentiated by their neighborhood.  Where there is more graffiti, there tends to be more color in clothing, etc.  I love that many of the people on Michigan Ave. do dress in neutrals, but have began to add pops of bright fuchsia color...perhaps in an attempt to add the spring pallete that the stubborn weather has not yet permitted.
